If left with sweat, dust, cosmetics, sunscreen, etc., the surface of the pearl can be damaged by acid and sweat, causing it to lose its luster.

Recommended cloths include microfiber cloths like those used for eyeglasses (without abrasive agents) or chamois leather cloths. Tissues are not recommended as they can scratch pearls.
